The use of medicinal herbs is intrinsic to Ayurvedic practice. For each herb used in Ayurveda, there is an understanding of the plant’s actions and energetics, encompassing the temperature, quality, vipaka (post-digest effect) and influence on the doshas (constitutions), dhatus (tissues), and srotas (channels).
