I am an ayurvedic physician and a clinical researcher. My journey includes a bachelor of ayurvedic medicine and surgery from the esteemed Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan, New Delhi, India and a masters in research (MRes) in clinical science from Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, UK.

Currently, I run my ayurvedic practice in Manchester and also offer online consultations to the people outside Manchester. My ethos is to offer a harmonious fusion of ancient ayurvedic wisdom and cutting-edge modern research. I specialise in tailoring ayurvedic solutions to balance seamlessly with peopleā€™s unique lifestyle and schedule, offering a pathway to alleviate discomforts and health challenges.

I thoroughly enjoy educating, writing and creating awareness about Ayurveda and holistic health. I have worked with a CIC, Aarogyam UK as a research officer/ Advisor and also led their health awareness programs on diabetes and lifestyle disorders, as an ayurvedic physician. I am motivated to extend my knowledge of research to the Ayurvedic community so the world can better understand the concept and benefit from the system.

I entered the world of research because I often felt that the quality of research in herbal medicine was questionable by many. To dig in deep, during my Masterā€™s degree, I conducted the quality assessment of the COVID-19 clinical trial using Ayurveda intervention and compared it to the COVID-19 clinical trial using non-Ayurveda intervention, including conventional medicine (majority). We found out that there was a difference between Ayurveda and non-Ayurveda trials. Initially the results favoured Ayurveda trials, so we conducted a sub-group analysis. The subgroup analysis could not establish the difference in the quality between two groups.

After the completion of my degree, we conducted a next stage study to assess the characteristics and reporting of traditional medicine including Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine and compared it with conventional medicine. We found out the traditional medicine trials were less likely to report the results than conventional medicine.

We have also conducted a pilot study on fibromyalgia participants who were offered group therapies and weekly one-to-one sessions of Ayurvedic lifestyle intervention and noticed a significant improvement in pain and quality of life.

My next project will be around cancer, and we are still at the proposal stage.
